* No election was held in the Neerigen Ward as the candidate was elected unopposed

What Happens Next?

At the Council Meeting to be held on Monday 19th October 2009 commencing at 7pm:

• Newly elected Councillors will make their Declaration of Office before Honorary Freeman of the City and JP Mr Spike Fokkema;
• Councillors will elect, from amongst themselves, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for a term of 2 years ending October 2011, and
• Councillors will be appointed by Council to the City's various committees and groups.

The City thanks all candidates and residents for their valued participation in this year's elections. Thanks also to Returning Officer Mr Jeff Solliss and Council Staff for the conduct of the election. Finally, a special note of appreciation to retiring Councillors John Knezevich and Jim Everts, and also former Councillors Jim Stewart and Laurie Scidone for the significant contribution made over their years of service to the City.
