Swimming Pool and Spa Requirements

A building licence is required to install a swimming pool and/or spa. Safety fencing is required for all above and below ground swimming pools and spas containing water to a depth greater than 300mm. This does not include fishponds. Swimming pools/spas are required to have an inspection at least every four years. While our records will automatically indicate when you are due for an inspection, if you would like to arrange a special swimming pool/spa inspection before the due date contact the City's Building Department.
