House Plans and Approval Services

The City has building plans dating back to the 1960's, although over time some records deteriorated before they could be preserved on microfiche and are no longer available. It is recommended that you contact the Building Department to find out whether your plans are available.

Pricing for copies of larger plans greater than A3 are by application and are $6.00 (inclusive of GST) per copy.

The table below outlines associated costs (all prices inclusive of GST).

Search and copy (if available) of original house plans	$35.00 built prior to 1992 and microfilmed. $45.00 built after 1992
Building approval enquiry A full search of Council records showing all building licences issued to the property and any plans that are available	$75.00
Property inspection report This is used when it is known that there is an existing structure on a property without Council approval. The fee includes a physical inspection of the property and written advice on how to best deal with the unauthorised structures.	$170.00

Copies of plans and property details can only be accessed by the owner of the property, or by a person that has written authorisation from the owner.

If the property is held in the form of a strata title then the signature/seal of the secretary of the strata company or managing agent will be required, otherwise the signatures of all owners involved in the strata subdivision will be required.
